Chattanooga Airport To Restart Parking Lot Construction

Passengers Encouraged To Heed Construction Signage When Parking

(August 31, 2005) - The short and long term parking lots at the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport will be under construction beginning September 6. This project originally began in February, but after completing Phase 1 - which included widening the exit lanes to provide greater convenience to local passengers - the work was postponed during the busy summer travel season.

The project will once again be divided into several phases to minimize the impact to passengers. The week before an area will be closed for construction, signage will be posted indicating what dates the work will begin in a particular area, and that passengers should only park in that area if their return date falls before the posted start date. Any cars left in the posted area on the start date will be moved to an adjoining lot. To assist the passengers through this process, the Airport Authority recommends:

  • Parking in the Intermediate Lot - it will not be under construction at any time during this process
  • When parking in Short- or Long-Term, follow the directions on the signage (cars WILL be moved on the posted date)!
  • For assistance in locating a vehicle that was parked in an area that is now cleared, contact Airport Police at 855-2204

This project will be completed as quickly as possible in an effort to minimize the impact to passengers, but it is important to remember that construction schedules are weather dependent. The Airport thanks local passengers for their patience as the parking lots are improved to better serve the community.
