(May 31, 2006) – Mike Landguth, President and CEO of the
Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority, has been elected to the
Board of Directors for the Southeast Chapter of the American
Association of Airport Executives (AAAE) – the largest professional
organization for airport executives in the world. With nearly 500
voting members, the Southeast Chapter of AAAE is the largest chapter
within the national organization.
Chip Barclay, president of AAAE, was quick to praise the election
of Mr. Landguth to the Southeast Chapter board. “Mike Landguth is an
absolutely outstanding choice to serve on the governing body of the
Southeast Chapter,” Mr. Barclay commented. “His innovative and
pro-active approach during his tenure as the leader of the
Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority will serve him well as he
helps to shape the policies and practices of the chapter for years
to come. AAAE’s regional chapters are an integral part of the
national organization’s core mission of education and training for
the men and women who run our nation’s airports, and I’m certain
that Mike’s vision and passion for our industry will make a lasting
contribution toward achieving those goals.”
Mr. Landguth will serve on the Southeast Chapter Board with
airport executives such as Jim Bennett of the Metropolitan
Washington Airports Authority and Kimberly Wade of
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport.
“Airports face tough issues every day as our organizations move
from government bureaucracies to entrepreneurial enterprises,” Mr.
Landguth said. “I am honored to serve on the Southeast Chapter Board
for AAAE and look forward to giving Chattanooga a voice in the
decisions that will shape the future of aviation in this country.”
Mr. Landguth will serve a four-year term on the Southeast Chapter
Board of Directors representing the states of Virginia, West
Virginia, Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina,
Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi, Florida, Louisiana and Arkansas;
Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands and Caribbean, and South American
countries.
