Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Postpones Parking Lot Reconstruction

Double Digit Growth Halts Project Until After Summer

(March 28, 2005) - The Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport Authority is temporarily postponing the rehabilitation of its Short- and Long-Term Parking Lots. After double-digit growth in passenger numbers in February, the parking lot was getting too full to accommodate the Airport's customers and continue the construction. Phase 1 - which included widening the exit lanes to provide greater convenience to local passengers - was completed before the project was postponed. The viability of restarting the project will be evaluated after the busy summer travel season.
