True Cost is more than the price of your airline ticket. It includes the cost of your productivity driving to and from the airport. And the National Business Aviation Association (NBAA) has developed an easy-to-use True Cost formula that can help you determine if driving to Atlanta or Nashville actually saves you money.
The formula simply multiplies the average drive time to and from your departure airport by your hourly compensation, multiplies the result by 3.8 (the average professional's productivity factor), then adds your ticket price to arrive at your total travel cost, or True Cost. Estimated wait times for check-in and security have also been included. |
