Travel Tips

The Chattanooga Airport strongly encourages passengers to arrive at the Airport at least one hour before their scheduled departure time. Many airline ticket counters close 30 to 40 minutes prior to departure to allow staff to assist with the flight. Please check with your airline before departing for the Airport to ensure there are no additional delays.

Here are some tips to ensure your air travel is convenient, secure and hassle-free. (Provided by the TSA).

Prohibited Items - Don't ruin your trip. You are allowed to travel with most items, but you must put them in your luggage and check them with your airline.

Transporting Special Items - Helpful information that explains the security screening procedures when traveling with sporting and hunting equipment, food and beverages and other objects.

Traveling with Children - What you need to consider when traveling with strollers, umbrella-strollers, baby carriers, car and booster seats, backpacks and baby slings.

Travelers with Disabilities & Medical Conditions - We have trained our Security Officers appropriately to handle those with hidden, visual, mobility and other conditions.

Finally, visit TSA's Frequently Asked Questions for more information about the most common questions travelers have when packing for a trip.  When in doubt, use the handy 'When I fly, can I bring my...' search box at the top of their website to find out how to pack specific items.
